People, who argue that crates are a place of punishment for dogs, can be proved incorrect. Crates for dogs are, in fact, a secure place for confinement and relaxation.
It is very instinctive for dogs to curl up and sleep in a secluded place with their back to the walls. Crates offer this sense of security for the dogs and they feel it as their own home.
Crates also help the dog to protect against all sorts of weather conditions and are easy to transport the dogs from one place to another, while travelling. Some mischievous dogs may roam around while the owner is not out there and get into trouble. Crates help to keep them in one place and offer safety.
Crates, for large dogs, should be large enough to make them move comfortably but it must not be too large lest they use one part of the crate as their bathroom. The large crate must also be well ventilated and plastic crates are good if the dog is taken in airlines, while travelling.
A wire crate that comes with a divider helps to section off part of the crate in the beginning and then, allows it open up when it needs more room. A wire crate can be folded for storage. But most importantly, crates serve as good place to train the dog and make it disciplined.
As crate is portable, it is possible to move it from one room to another and the owner can watch television, by putting the dog into the crate and giving a toy for the dog which gives safety for the dog and the owner.
