Pet toys are very helpful to keep the pets engaged and playful for hours together and give respite to the pet owners. Pet toys need not always be a very expensive item. It is enough if the pet toy is safe for the pet, durable and interesting for the pet.
Rubber rings and rubber rope are the most ideal dog toys which can keep them entertained for hours tougher. But Kong toys are the safest because they are solid rubber toys with a hole, where something tasty can be stuffed in.
Cats love to play with toy birds and mice. Even a simple laser pointer is enough for the cat to keep chasing the red dot around for a very long time, tirelessly. Since cats are prone to scratch the furniture, scratching posts serve as good toys and can save the furniture of the house too.
The size of the toy must be appropriate, particularly for dogs since they have the risk of swallowing the toy. Also, the toy should not contain any brittle parts that may tear the mouth of the dog and hurt it.
There are many varieties of toys for each kind of pet, ranging from stuffed ones to rubber toys. Perches, swings, forages are toys specifically designed for pet birds but whatever be the type of toys, safety has to be the first priority, if the owner really loves and cares for his pet animal or bird.
